More excitement in the new University of Tasmania precinct!

We told you last month about the new University of Tasmania precinct at the 2020 show – complete with making a model car to race in the Derby and creating a car to protect your racing egg in the ‘eggs-treme’ crashes.  Bunnings and the University of Tasmania team will be on hand to help with car making activities.

Here are some more super exciting activities on offer:

Virtual reality demo: Experience first-hand how virtual reality is transforming the car industry.

Model solar car challenge: Watch model cars move around a 7m track, powered by the sun!

Got a pre-1990 truck? Enter it in our new category

Do you own a pre-1986 truck? Want to share it with our show?  The Devonport Motor Show will offer a new category in 2020 – pre-1990 trucks.  We’ve already got a couple lined up, including this Ford 700 – a classic from local businessman Chas Kelly’s personal collection.

We’re moving!

Yep, that’s right – the 2020 Searoad Devonport Motor Show is moving…but only down the road!

With Devonport’s Living Centre Project now in full swing, we are moving our show to the Northern end of Victoria Parade – stretching from the Vietnam Veterans memorial carpark, and west along the foreshore to Fenton Street North.

Our show will also extend to the grassed area in front of the Bass Strait Maritime Centre.

Let’s beat 500 entries in 2020!

We were delighted to have more than 500 entries  in 2019 – do you think we can beat this in 2020? You bet we can!  With our new site we have plenty of room to spread out! Get your pre-entries in now!

To receive an entry-tag, you need to enter online by Sunday 1 March.  Online entries will remain open until 15 March, however you will not receive a tag after 1 March, but instead a unique number to be printed and displayed on your vehicle (where it can be seen by parking officials and judges).

To enter on the day you will need to enter the Late Registration Area (look out for signage). You will also need to pay the $15 entry fee for each adult in the car.

Admission fee update!

From 2020 onwards, we are offering more discounts on admission fees for patrons to our show – keeping in mind that this fee goes directly to charity!

Children under 16: Free
Student card holders: Free
Adult ticket prices: Remain at $15.

We are delighted to announce that $2 per ticket from the 2020 show will also go towards the Rotary Australia World Community Service bushfire appeal.

More than just cars – food and entertainment galore!

More than 20 food and drink stalls will be on offer at our show – something to cater for all tastes!

There will also be music, rides and a bunch of other entertainment, including outrageous children’s entertainer Super Hubert.  Super Hubert is a professional magician, outrageous comedian, pyrotechnic whiz kid, and dare devil stuntman.
