In 2026, the SeaRoad Devonport Motor Show will mark a remarkable milestone – our 20th anniversary.
From its humble beginnings, the event has grown into the second-biggest on the Devonport calendar and is now widely recognised as one of the best motor shows in Tasmania. It’s a celebration of motoring passion, community spirit, and two decades of memories shared on the foreshore.
This exciting anniversary also marks a significant moment of change.
The 2026 event will be the final show solely run by the Rotary Club of Devonport North. After twenty years of dedication, with some members contributing since the very first show, the time feels right to open the door for new organisers to shape the next chapter of the event.
While this show marks the end of RCDN’s role as sole organiser, we’re committed to helping others step in and continue the tradition. With our knowledge and support, the Motor Show can remain a much-loved part of Devonport’s future.
Save the date
The 20th SeaRoad Devonport Motor Show will take place on Sunday 22 March 2026.
Vehicle pre-entries will open on our website from 1 November 2025. Stay tuned for details on how to secure your spot.
A tribute to 20 unforgettable years
For two decades, the Motor Show has been much more than a showcase of beautiful cars and bikes. It’s an event that brings our local community together and attracts enthusiasts from across Tasmania and the mainland.
Over the years, we’ve built a proud legacy celebrating motoring passion while raising significant funds for worthy causes. Funds raised have been distributed locally, nationally, and internationally, supporting projects that make a real difference.
As we celebrate 20 years, this anniversary show stands as a tribute to all that’s been achieved: the vehicles displayed, the crowds welcomed, the communities supported, and the countless memories made.
Get revved up for “the best of the best”
What could be more fitting for an anniversary show than bringing together the best of the best?
We’ll be inviting past Motor Show trophy winners from across the last two decades to return and display their award-winning vehicles as a special feature group. On the day, our judges will choose the standout car, ute, hot rod, and bike from this elite line-up – and crown the ultimate Best of the Best in each category.
Cast your mind back… what were you up to in March 2007
Back then, a small group of Rotary members were busy setting the wheels in motion for what would become the first Devonport Motor Show. It didn’t start out as the large-scale event we know today, but as a modest “Swap and Sell” gathering focused on hot rods, restored classics, and spare parts of all makes.
The idea came from the late Ian Murcott, a passionate hot rod enthusiast, sprint car racer at Latrobe Speedway, and long-standing member of the Rotary Club of Devonport North. It was Ian’s idea that sparked what has become a much-loved community event, and he truly lived the motoring spirit – even building his own hot rod, which his wife Cinni still enjoys driving on sunny summer days.
Without Ian’s passion and vision, the Motor Show may never have existed. His legacy is one we’re proud to celebrate as we mark this special 20th anniversary.
Driven by community, fuelled by generosity
Since it began, the SeaRoad Devonport Motor Show has combined a passion for motoring with a commitment to giving back, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for worthy causes.
