The “Best of the Best” are back in 2026, and these 6 are just the beginning

As we celebrate 20 years of the SeaRoad Devonport Motor Show, the Rotary Club of Devonport North is honouring the milestone with a standout theme:

“Best of the Best”

This feature display brings together standout vehicles that have earned top recognition in past Motor Shows. You’ll get to see the most impressive, memorable, and award-winning entries from across two decades.

And it’s already shaping up to be something special.

We have six exceptional vehicles confirmed so far, each recognised as a Top 10 or Top 5 vehicle in previous years. With around 500 vehicles entering the show each year, earning a place in the top rankings is no small achievement.

Here’s who’s returning so far:

  • 1973 E-Type Jaguar – Best British Sports Car (2015)
  • 1971 Valiant Pacer – Top 10 (2023)
  • 1965 2-Door Falcon – Top 10 (2024)
  • 1975 LH Holden Torana – Top 10 (2024)
  • 1974 RX4 Mazda – Top 5 (2025)
  • 1978 HZ Holden Ute – Top 5 (2025)

And we’re extending an open invitation…

If your vehicle has ever placed in the Top 10, Top 5, or taken home a trophy in any category, we’d love to welcome you into the “Best of the Best” display.

This anniversary year is the perfect time to put your standout vehicle back in the spotlight.

United by motoring, driven by passion

The SeaRoad Devonport Motor Show has always reflected the people who love motoring. Our community is every bit as diverse and individual as the vehicles we bring together and admire.

And while some might think of motoring as a mostly male space, women have long played a part in the cars, bikes, and builds that make the show what it is.

We’re excited to already have entries from:

  • Jan Lawler – 1974 Chrysler Charger
  • Sara Tonna – 1934 Ford Hot Rod
  • Suzie Sculthorpe – 2008 Holden R8 Clubsport
  • Alana McDougall – Mazda MX-5

If you’re a female exhibitor – first-timer or long-timer – we’d love to see you at the show.

Meet the Tasmanian Moto Trials Club

If you’ve never seen motorcycle trials before, you’re in for something completely different.

Tasmania’s only Moto Trials club welcomes riders from under-10s to over-65s, and they’re passionate about growing this fun, technical sport across the state. The club holds monthly events from February to November and works hard to introduce newcomers to what makes trials riding so addictive.

What is Moto Trials?

Unlike most forms of motorsport, Moto Trials isn’t about speed. It’s all about balance and control, finesse and nerve.

Riders navigate tight, obstacle-filled courses (called sections) where the goal is simple but not easy: stay upright, stay controlled, and keep your feet off the ground. Every dab or stall costs points, so precision is everything.

It’s one of the safest and most family-friendly forms of motorsport, with kids, parents, and even grandparents often competing at the same events, each at their own level.

Keen to see more at the 2026 show?

You’ll be able to meet club members, get up close to the bikes, and learn how trials competitions work. And who knows… you might even discover your next hobby.

Vehicle pre-entries are FREE and open now

When you pre-enter, you and one passenger also receive free entry on the day. It’s our way of saying thanks for being an important part of the show.

Sunday 22 March 2026, 9:00am – 3:00pm
Aikenhead Point, Devonport (northern end of Victoria Parade)

Every year, our exhibitors hear the same thing from spectators: “I’m so glad you brought this, it’s my favourite of the day!”

Consider this your reminder that an anniversary year is the perfect time to roll yours out.

So tell us… what’s sitting under a dust sheet in your shed?

A family heirloom on wheels?
A hot rod with more chrome than common sense?
That coupe you swear you’re almost finished?
A vintage bike that deserves an admiring crowd?
A muscle car that makes heads turn every time it fires up?
A tidy classic your kids have been quietly eyeing off?
That bike someone once said you’d “never get running again”?
A modern performance car you’ve personalised to the nines?

If it has heart, history, or simply makes you smile, it belongs at the 20th anniversary show.
