With entries already streaming in from Tasmania, Victoria, and NSW, expect a fun Moke invasion at the 2026 SeaRoad Devonport Motor Show.
If there’s one thing Moke owners do well, it’s turning up together.
The Moke Owners Association of Victoria has officially locked the Motor Show into their 2026 calendar, wrapping up a week-long Tasmanian tour with a final stop at Devonport. It’s a fitting full-circle moment for our current Motor Show Chair, Rod, who first connected with the MOA back in 2006 at a 40-year Moke celebration in Shepparton.
Since then, Rod and his wife Faye have toured every state and territory in Australia by Moke. Sometimes in convoys of 50, sometimes with just one other brave soul for company.
What makes Mokes so much fun is that no two are ever alike. Some are lovingly untouched time capsules. Others are wildly modified, including one that claims the title of Australia’s first road-registered V8-powered Moke.
Colourful, quirky and impossible to miss, the Mokes are ready to bring a whole lot of character to the show.
Just don’t expect them to take themselves too seriously.
Two wheels = plenty of attention
The bike entries so far are looking sharp, and there’s room for plenty more. With a smaller lineup this year, every bike adds something special to the mix and gets the attention it deserves.
A new generation joins the racing lineup
Greenpower Australia has officially launched nationwide, with North West Tasmania proudly established as its national home. And in March, you’ll get to see exactly what it’s all about.
Greenpower is a hands-on STEM program that began more than 25 years ago in the UK, giving young people the chance to design, build, and race electric vehicles. It’s practical, exciting, and a powerful way for students to develop their teamwork and problem-solving skills.
At this year’s Motor Show, we’ll host the first-ever Devonport Goblins Heat. Primary-aged students (Grades 3–6) will take to the track in the electric cars they’ve built themselves, with teams travelling from around Tasmania and interstate.
This is your chance to see Greenpower in action.
Expect energy, excitement and plenty of proud moments as the next generation of engineers hits the track.
100 years young, and counting
Not only is this 1926 Chevrolet Tourer celebrating its 100th birthday in 2026, but it’s spent almost all of that time right here in the North West of Tassie.
The car was originally owned by Louis Tankard of Sheffield, manager of the River Don Trading Company. Over the decades, it passed through only a handful of careful custodians.
Current owner Eddie Firth first rode in this Chevrolet as a child, then spent years keeping track of it before finally purchasing it in 2002. Now, a century on from its first registration, the car remains remarkably original.
A rare local survivor, and a pretty special way to mark a century on the road.
Swap Meet returns to the Motor Show
The Devonport Motor Show will once again feature a dedicated Swap Meet, coordinated by the Veteran Car Club of Australia (North-West Tasmania). Stallholders will be set up along Victoria Parade (see map below), offering classic parts, project pieces and motoring memorabilia.
Entry to the Swap Meet area is free for the public.

A touch of luxury from the West Coast
You don’t usually expect to see a Rolls-Royce outside the local IGA. But in Queenstown, it barely raises an eyebrow anymore.
This 1981 Rolls-Royce belongs to Queenstown local and fiction author Paul Frisby. Recently featured on Channel 7 as part of a travel program, it’s become a familiar (and slightly surreal) sight around town, from grocery runs to impromptu photo stops.
And yes, when asked, it occasionally moonlights as a wedding car too. As Paul says, “One just has to do weddings when people ask, particularly if it’s for the boys and girls in blue.”
Elegant, unexpected, and very much at home in Tasmania.
